Thank you Lindsay. I completely agree with you. We need to stop everything. Out of fairness to our students and parents we need to take a realistic look at the the effects this virus is having and will probably have next fall. Our health officials have stated clearly that this will be back in the fall and with our governor announcing today that she wants to extend the emergency
Disaster status we will not be ready for fall under the the best circumstances. The Board has not shown or discussed the reports we have regarding how detrimental this 5th grade move could be to our children. I have yet to see a positive outcome from our present
Reconfiguration plans. The recent announcement of changes in curriculum, changes in specialized services and projections of overcrowding is nothing that this community expected or wanted. Thank you for taking the time to show where you stand. Please feel free to contact me for more information, Cindy

Good morning!I hope this email finds you all doing well.
As the Board consulted with Bloomfield Hills back at the start of GP’s
talks regarding our own potential reconfiguration, you are probably
already aware that BH is now trying to UNDO their reconfiguration. Here is what I understand: there is a bond vote in August (was
supposed to be May) for changes to get back to the k-5, 6-8 model. The plan is to switch to 2 middle schools - North (Lahser campus) and
South (BHMS campus). East Hills and West Hills will be elementary
schools, and Way and Conant will stay Elementary. The bond is for
major renovations to the schools, including Lahser.Have you re-consulted with BH? Or with Plante Moran to see where
things went wrong? The feedback I have received directly from BH
teachers and parents is that they ran out of space.Related to this, I am a parent of a 4th grader at Richard. As you
know, this has been a difficult year for these little people. There
is now added upheaval, disappointment, and uncertainty thrown at them.
Can we have the small comfort in knowing that their already cut short
elementary experience won’t be shortened any further? That they can
return (eventually) to something familiar? Shortening their
elementary experience would have been disruptive under perfect
circumstances, but now they are set to be moved into completely
unknown territory with tremendous question marks all over it. The
sooner parents can know what is in store in the fall, the sooner we
can give our kids that small reassurance.I usually do not receive an email back from the Board, but would
appreciate one!Thank you,
Lindsay Jerabek
