• Gary and Rebecca,

I was glad to see that you are moving from the primarlily "invitation only" Selective Focus Group Meetings prior to this date to an open-to-everyone Town Hall Meeting format.  They are very, very different from each other, and I feel anything you can do to get the venues to an open-to-all format is the right thing to do.

One thing I do think needs to be made clear in all of your marketing of these events is the topic of discussion.  Are these to be an open question-and-answer format of meeting that most would call a Town Hall Meeting, or are they going to be highly focused on infrastructure issues as were the invitation only Focus Group meetings?

Please let us know at your earliest convenience.

    Thank you,

    Ahmed

    More Town Halls are coming
Last year the district hosted Town Halls at North, South, Parcells, Brownell and Defer to be sure we are listening to our community and its direction for our schools. At those meetings, the civil discourse was amazing and we want that to continue. This fall semester there will be Town Halls at:

    ·         Kerby 11/10

    ·         Maire 11/30

    ·         Mason 12/6
All are 6-9 p.m. and start in the school library. Email rebecca.fannon@gpschools<mailto:
rebecca.fannon@gpschools> if you’d like more detail. These will be true Town Halls, open to all. Please come and bring your neighbors who don’t currently have children in our schools.
