Subject: GreenhouseHi Chris,
Thank you for the information list Monday but I would still like to to see the complete line item list of the greenhouse build. I can try to get that information. The information provided last Monday is part of the normal construction process. It should be noted that because he does not have a contract, he also doesn’t have contracts with his sub-contractors and likely hasn’t settled on these yet.
This should have all the details including misters etc. This irrigation misting system was an alternate on the Trombly Greenhouse bid. The District did not elect to do this as part of the project. South does not have a irrigation/misting system either. It can be added later at both sites.
Are the vents run electronically or manual. The roof ridge vents open and close electronically, by way of a thermostatically controlled motor actuator (similar as South). The windows around the perimeter are manual (similar as South).
I would like every line item detail. I will see what else the contractors can provide.
Also, could the painting, what little there is, be done in house? In theory, yes. We are scheduled to do more painting this summer than last year. Between vacation schedules and other paint projects it will be harder to schedule than the Maker’s Space which will be done in May.
What about the HVAC package? No, the perimeter fin tube heating needs to be done by a qualified contractor. The work that is being done at the South Maker’s space is strictly controls, some minor equipment. The work at South Maker’s Space will be done by our in-house HVAC specialist and Johnson Controls. The District has a service contract with Johnson Controls.
We are doing both of these in house for the Maker space can we do the same for the greenhouse? See previous two (2) comments.
