Subject: Fwd: FW: Certify Your Delegates and Alternates for the MASB Delegate AssemblyWe will need to vote on our delegates and the alternate as a board. Please let me know of your interest and I will add this to the August business meeting. As long as I have sat on the board the district does not pay for board member travel. That is something to keep in mind if anyone is interested in attending.RespectfullyJudy Gafa

To ensure receipt of this email, please add webmaster@masb.org to your address book.MASB's 2015 Delegate Assembly will begin Thursday, Oct. 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the Grand Traverse Resort. Delegates selected by boards of education across the state will decide MASB's positions on a wide variety of issues affecting education, including our position on proposed legislation being considered by the State Board of Education.
Below is a link to use to certify the official voting delegates and alternates who will represent your board of education. All delegates and alternates must be school board members. Only delegates and alternates named by your board may offer motions and vote on issues. However, all school board members may speak on the issues and participate in the debate. Your 2015-2016 MASB dues must be paid in order for a district to participate in the Delegate Assembly.
Delegates must register separately from the MASB Annual Leadership Conference registration and pick up their ribbons (which identify them as official voting delegates) outside the ballroom where the Delegate Assembly is meeting. Registration will open one hour prior to the Delegate Assembly. In order to register, your delegates and alternates must be certified by your board of education in advance of the Delegate Assembly. Voting delegates and alternates cannot be certified on-site. Please use the below link to certify your delegates. All delegates must be certified by Oct. 8.
