    An introduction to career exploration will be introduced to all 5th graders in the Spring 
     

    Naviance 6th - 8th grade

     

    Naviance is a college and career readiness program that helps students discover their strengths and interests. The program assists students with academic, career and college planning and is completed online. 
     
     
     
    6th grade
     
    Students will specifically be introduced to a  Learning and Productivity Inventory Assessment. The results reveal the ways you learn best and how you can be most productive. There are 3 preferences that are evaluated in this assessment: Sensory, Environmental and Mindset. Students are encouraged to take the lesson home and share results with their parents.
     
    7th grade
     
    Students will specifically be introduced to Career Key which is a matching system that enables students to identify careers and college majors that match their interests, traits. skills and abilities. They will also be working on Career Cluster Finder which helps students define career pathways. In addition, students will explore Roadtrip Nation which connects students to careers that are true to their interests. Students are encouraged to take the lesson home and share results with their parents.
     
     
    8th grade
     
    Strengths Explorer. Strengths Explorer assesses 10 talent themes for individuals and identifies each student’s three strongest emerging talents, such as Confidence, Dependability, or Future Thinker. It provides explanations of these themes, strategies for capitalizing on each, and action items to help students gain insight into their greatest talents – natural patterns of thought, feeling, and behavior – to leverage in the classroom and in life. Strengths Explorer Themes are: Achieving, Caring, Competing, Confidence, Dependability, Discoverer, Future Thinker, Organizer, Presence, Relating. Students will also explore Roadtrip Nation which connects students to careers that are true to their interests. Students were encouraged to take the lesson home and share results with their parents.
