  • A Tradition of Excellence

As an integral part of a community (Grosse Pointe Woods, MI) that prides itself on a commitment to excellence, the athletic program at Grosse Pointe North High School is a reflection of that desire to bring out the best in our students, parents, school, and community. The mission of Grosse Pointe North athletics is, with the support of the community, to offer a program in educational athletics that provides opportunities for student growth and development through competitive interscholastic sports.

Since Grosse Pointe North High School opened in the fall of 1968, interscholastic athletics have been an integral part of the school, and school system that prides itself on excellence in academics, athletics, and the performing arts. North is a member of the 32 school Macomb Area Conference (MAC), which places member schools in divisions for each sport based on size of the school and the strength of the program. Despite being one of the smallest of the Class “A” high schools in the conference, North competes in the highest division of the MAC (the Red Division) in more sports than any other conference member(s). We are proud of a tradition of competitive success!
