World Languages Department The Grosse Pointe North World Languages Department offers, French, German, Italian and Spanish. AP is offered in French, Italian, German and Spanish. Students may also take Latin at Grosse Pointe South High School. GPPSS requires 2 years of consecutive language study for most students. Most state 4-year colleges in Michigan recommend a minimum of 3 years of language study. Students in the Grosse Pointe Public School System may also receive high school credit for Spanish and French at the middle school level.
