    DO NOT:
    • conclude the manuscript with "The End"
    • use you in place of 1st or 3rd person
    • use get in place of become, receive, obtain
    • use a lot in place ofoften, many, several,
      frequently
    • use should of in place of should have
    • use like in place of just as, as, as if, as though
    • use thing in place of the specific concept, or
      object

    AVOID:

    • clichés
    • colloquialisms (slang)
    • passive verbs
    • wordiness
    • dangling or misplaced modifiers
    • redundancy
    • generalities and vagueness
    • shift in construction (number, tense, person, voice) in the middle of a sentence

    BE CAREFUL WITH:

    • affect / effect
    • among / between
    • imply / infer
    • its / it"s
    • lie / lay
    • quotation / quote
    • real / really
    • that / which
    • then / than
    • there / their / they"re
    • to / too / two
    • your / you"re

    Make sure that final manuscripts are neat, neat,neat.
