Program Overview

The Grosse Pointe Summer Music Festival is open to all currently enrolled GPPSS Band and Orchestra students in grades 5-8. This exciting and affordable local program provides an opportunity for students to further develop their instrumental music skills. Extension courses to Band & Orchestra include Jazz Band and Fiddling.

Primary Courses

Tuition: $85

Intermediate Band	Band Room	9:00 – 9:50 am	Students completing grades 5 or 6
Advanced Band	Band Room	11:10 am – 12:00 pm	Students completing grades 7 or 8
Intermediate Orchestra	Auditorium	9:00 – 9:50 am	Students completing grades 5 or 6
Advanced Orchestra	Auditorium	11:10 am – 12:00 pm	Students completing grades 7 or 8

 

 

 

Extension Courses

Tuition: $55.00 (Note: Must be enrolled in a primary course to take extension courses)

• Fiddlers (10:05 – 10:55 am): Open to string students grades 5 - 8.
   
• Jazz Band (10:05 – 10:55 am): Open to saxophone, trumpet, trombone, drum set, string bass, guitar, bass guitar, and piano students with at least ONE YEAR previous jazz band experience.
  • Note: Limited openings for drum set, guitar, bass, and piano students.
