GPPSS Summer Choir

You are invited to register for the Grosse Pointe Public School System's Annual Summer Choir Workshop!  This exciting program is open to vocal music students rising into grades 4-12 and provides an opportunity for students to maintain and further develop their singing skills.

PLACE: Brownell Middle School


DATES: August 17-21, 2026


TIMES: Monday through Thursday 9 AM- 12 PM; Friday 9 AM-2:00 PM; Friday 6pm and 8pm performances (required);


WORKSHOP FEE: $110 (nonrefundable) until June 11; $125 (nonrefundable) after June 11;
REGISTRATION AND GUIDELINES: The workshop is open to students rising into grades 4-12 and is highly encouraged for students who are enrolled in their home school's choir program. Click here to register

Friday, August 21st performances at 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm at Brownell Middle School, 260 Chalfonte Ave., Grosse Pointe Farms, MI 48236.

  • It is suggested that students bring a light snack and labeled water bottle which can be eaten during the mid-morning break. 
  • Do not wear sandals, flip-flops, or crocs to rehearsal.  Wear safe shoes with socks!
  • Solo auditions will be Tuesday beginning at 12:15pm. If you would like to audition, you must bring music to the audition and have your music memorized. An accompanist will be provided.
  • A T-shirt will be provided for each workshop participant. Each participant must provide the remainder of the performance attire. Each participant will need a pair of khaki shorts (must meet dress code standards) white socks and athletic shoes. For students wearing shorts with belt loops, a belt must be worn. All shirts must be tucked in.
  • All workshop participants are expected to attend both Friday evening performances. NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • Performances are Friday, August 21 at 6pm and 8pm.
