About Mrs. ComillaWelcome to Monteith Elementary School! I am excited to have your child in my class and look forward to a wonderful year together. Kindergarten is an exciting place to be; during this school year we will work together to build positive school habits that will benefit your child in the future!
Here is a little background information about me…I am a Michigan State University graduate (GO GREEN!) with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Elementary Education. I have my Master’s degree in Curriculum Development, also from Michigan State University. This will be my twelfth year of teaching. I have taught both fifth grade and middle school, and this year I am extremely excited about my new adventure KINDERGARTEN!
When not in the classroom I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband, a first grade teacher, and I have two boys who keep us quite busy! Ryan,8, is in the 3rd grade and Tyler,6, is in the 1st grade. You can often find us watching Ryan at the basketball court or doing science experiments with Tyler.
This year I will provide your child with a variety of learning experiences throughout their day that will develop their social, cognitive, emotional, and physical skills. I can’t wait to see your child grow as a reader, writer, scientist, mathematician, artist, problem solver, and friend this school year.
Communication is key to a great school year! No one knows your child better than you. I welcome any input you have on your child. If you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to let me know.
