Mission: Key Club International is the high school organization sponsored by Kiwanis International. It’s mission is to assist the Kiwanis to perform acts of service in their communities. Key Club students also learn leadership skills by running meetings, planning projects and holding elected leadership positions at the club, district, and international level.
Volunteer Opportunities: Key Club volunteers partner with the March of Dimes, Children’s Miracle Network and Unicef in hands on ways.

Mission: We are a faith-based, anti-human trafficking organization that ministers on the streets of Detroit t those enslaved in prostitution and the ancillary victims as well. We assist them with safely exiting the street when they are ready, entrance into detox program and then onto rehabilitation if necessary.
Volunteer Opportunities: Our volunteer assist with preparation of lunches and hygiene kits that are taken out to the street by our outreach volunteers. Volunteers also help with admin duties, organization, and fundraising.

Mission: The American Cancer society is the nationwide, community-based, voluntary heath organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy and service.
Volunteer Opportunities: We have a planning committee for our May event. There are several positions that are available including recruitment, fundraising, logistics, entertainment and many more. We also love day of event volunteers to help us with set up and tear down.

Volunteer Opportunities: We use volunteers in a variety of ways including: groups conduction island-wide beautification projects, Belle Isle Aquarium Greeters, Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory Greeters and Docents, special events volunteers, and Saturday Stewardship (removal of invasive species).
Minimum Age: Group volunteering opportunities are welcoming of individuals of all ages with adequate adult supervision. Regular individual volunteer opportunities are limited to ages 18 and older, or 16+ if accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Mission: In partnership with the Detroit Police Department and community volunteers, Detroit PAL builds character in young people through athletic, academic and leadership development programs. We strive to achieve 3 important goals for our kids: young people with high character, who lead healthy and active lifestyles and give back to their community.
Volunteer Opportunities: Volunteers are needed as coaches, assistant to coaches, field clean-ups, score-keepers, site monitors, etc. Volunteers are also needed to spread the word about PAL and help with fundraising efforts.
Minimum Age: Volunteer coaches must be 18 years old, but there are other ways to get involved no matter what your age.
Additional Requirements: To become a coach, volunteers must take our IMPACT training class and get a background check.

Mission: Our primary mission is to feed hungry people. Our aim is to get food where it’s needed, when it’s needed. We do this by being a highly efficient and cost-effective food distribution center. We use thousands of volunteers to keep our labor costs down so we can put more money into food for hungry people.

Mission: Our mission is to provide a facility and service to the community, where lost pets, stray and injured animals can be sheltered and receive veterinary care. We will seek foster homes and permanent placement for unclaimed pets through our adoption program, and humanely euthanize those that are critically injured, untreatable or unacceptable.
Volunteer Opportunities: Volunteers at the shelter assist with caring for pets, walking dogs, laundry. Volunteers at adoption showings welcome guests, sit with and transport pets, host bake sales.

Mission: Racing For Kids is a 27 year old children’s charity with close ties to the Indy Racing League. IndyCar drivers visit the local children’s hospitals prior to each IndyCar race, they sign autographs, bring gifts, and take pictures with the children. These visits brighten the day of the sick children and also their families.
Volunteer Opportunities: Our largest fundraiser for Racing For Kids is held on the Hill in Grosse Pointe Farms. Volunteers are needed to help in the days prior to the event, on the day of the event, and the day after for set up, helping with decorations, running errands and other needs.
