For each dollar that is donated you get one vote.  Make sure you know the contestants name when you call or go when you go online.  Here are the contestants:

I-1. Emily C.-10th grader--Sophomore Emily  has been in choir for three years and in two Grosse Pointe North Musicals.  Her favorite types of music are alternative, jazz, rock and show tunes and in her spare time she likes to check out some of the local bands along with playing piano and rockin' out with her friends.

I-2. Michelle E.-10th grader--Michelle E. is a tenth grader at Grosse Pointe North High School and has been participating in school, show and church choirs since the fifth grade.  Michelle says she likes all kinds of music but according to her the best type of music to listen to is reggae.

I-3. Jenna E.-11th grader--Jenna is a junior at North and is involved in many activities.  Jenna has been involved with choir department in the past and listens to any music but techno.

I-4. Sabrina H.-9th grader--

    Freshman Sabrina likes to listen to gospel and R&B music as she's on the computer and talking with friends.  Sabrina has been singing in school and church choirs as long as she can remember and her profile includes singing in the Michigan Combined Choir and the General Assembly Choir of Nashville, Tennessee.

I-5. Michelle H.-9th grader--Michelle has been singing in school choirs for years and truly loves being on stage.  It wouldn't be uncommon to see Michelle singing karaoke or competing in a pageant.  Michelle was also a semi-finalist for Star Search.

 

I-6. Ashley R.-12th grader--Grosse Pointe North's Ashley R. has been singing in school, the community and church since she was six years old.  Ashley hopes to pursue a career in professional singing but still likes to relax, go to the movies and spend time with her family and friends.

I-7. Matt S.-11th grader--Matt is a junior at Grosse Pointe North High School and has spent the last seven years of his life devoted to choir and musical theater.  Aside from writing lyrics while playing the guitar, Matt also writes and produces films in his spare time.

I-8. Jim S.-9th grader--Freshman Jim still finds time to sing choir for his fourth year and participate in community theater musicals while being an active member of Peer Resistance, Drama Club and a Class Senator.  The Norseman favorite types of music are pop and show tunes.

I-9.- Angela T.-12th grader--Senior Angela has not only been involved in singing with the school choirs of GPN and Brownell Middle School, she also sings at her church and has been an active actress in many of North's play and musical productions.  She enjoys listening to Broadway show tunes and Adult Top 40.

I-10.- Alex W.-11th grader--

I-11.- Alaina W.-9th grader--Although only a freshman at Grosse Pointe North, Alaina has a long history of singing including several years of school and community choir.  She competed in the American Guild of Music Competition and received a third place finish.  Alaina wishes to major in acting at a big city college and perhaps study abroad in the United Kingdom.

 

In order to vote for your GP Idol you must:

  • Call in to 432-3528 and deliver a check to the South TV Lab underneath the tennis courts the night of the performance or drop off the check to Mr. Stackpoole at Grosse Ponte North High School or Mr. Geresy at Grosse Pointe South High School.
