The Summer Learning Program 2008 offers a wide variety of educational opportunities for students of all ages.  We hope that you will find our offerings exactly what your child needs and wishes to pursue.

 

Summer Learning Program Facts

  • Last year over 700 students attended the Summer Learning Program.

  • There are over forty certified teachers on staffIn addition, we have several adults doing pre-service internships, including an intern counselor, social worker, and some teachers.  These pre-service students and interns will be assisting our certified staff to make your child’s summer school experience a memorable one.

  • A snack table is open at Richard Elementary School in between classes and briefly after school. The snack table offers a variety of foods and beverages, including juices, soft drinks, water and snack food for purchase.

  • There is a snack bar open before school and in between all classes at South High School.  The snack bar offers a variety of foods and beverages, including snacks, juices, soft drinks, water, breakfast food items, and simple lunch items.  No food is allowed in the classrooms.  See the High School General Information pages for more detailed information.

  • We would like to thank all student and parent volunteers, who help in so many ways.

  • Please contact the Summer Learning Program office with any questions or concerns.  Elementary attendance should be called in to (313) 432-3094 and Secondary attendance should be called in to (313) 432-3095.
