Residency Update Spring 2007
In order to attend school in The Grosse Pointe Public School System, you must reside within district boundaries. The school system verifies residency for all new enrollees by
reviewing required documentation. Click on the “Residency Requirement” link under the Enrollment section of our district website for further information.
Throughout the year, when necessary and where needed, the school system will also verify the residency of the student(s) and/or parent/guardian by making a home visit. Students who are found not to be residing in the district will be excluded. If you suspect a student and/or parent is not a resident of the school system, please report them to 313/432-3074.
As of May 1, 2007, the district has investigated 182 students (2% of our total enrollment) during the 2006/07 school year. Of those, 84 were confirmed with valid residency, 49 were removed/excluded, and 49 are still being investigated. |
