Title I is
a federally funded, general education support program that is designed to
help children reach high academic standards. It reaches approximately 12.5
million students enrolled in both public and private schools throughout the
nation. Title I funds may be used for children from preschool to high
school. Most students receiving support nationwide (65 percent) are in
first through sixth grades. The subject areas most frequently targeted are
reading and math.
Defer
Elementary in Grosse Pointe Park and Poupard Elementary in Harper Woods are
Title I schools in the Grosse Pointe Public School System. The Title I
programs at these schools provide individual and small group instructional
support to qualifying students.
