Administration
This marks my 34th year in education and 3rd
year as principal of Pierce Middle School.
My undergraduate degree was earned at
Aquinas College (Grand Rapids, Michigan) and graduate degree was
obtained at the University of Detroit. My classroom experiences found me
teaching Biology, Health Education and Physical Education at Detroit
Austin Prep and Warren DeLaSalle Collegiate High Schools from 1974 to
1988. From 1989-1991 I became the Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at
the University of Detroit Mercy and the university’s first academic
support coordinator to the athletic department. My administrative
background has been entirely at the secondary level. While at DeLaSalle
I served as vice principal from 1991-2000 and most recently served as
the assistant principal at Grosse Pointe South High School in the area
of student services from 2000-2003 until my appointment to Pierce.
I have loved every minute of my
experiences working with adolescents and young adults. My wife and I are
proud parents of three students enrolled in Grosse Pointe Schools.

I am thrilled to introduce
myself as the Assistant Principal of Pierce Middle School. I would like
to take this opportunity to share some information about myself.
I began my teaching
career as a social studies teacher at Waverly High School in Lansing.
After two successful years at Waverly, I returned home to the Metro
Detroit area and continued my career as a social studies teacher at
Allen Park. During my time at Allen Park I also attended Wayne State
University where I earned my Master's degree in Educational Leadership.
In the fall of 2004, I joined the staff of Grosse Pointe Public schools
as the Coordinator of the Community High School. Last June, I was
honored to be selected to fill the position of Assistant Principal.
