GPPSS teacher publishes book on technology integration

Dr. Grace Smith, Specialist in Instructional Technology and Social Studies, is the author of a new book, Differentiating Instruction with Technology in K-5 Classrooms that has been published by the International Society for Technology in Education. The book is focused on helping educators understand how to immediately use technology as a tool to differentiate instruction. Dr. Smith and Dr. Stephanie Throne (her co-author and daughter) provide a variety of practical instructional strategies to accommodate a broad range of learning styles, abilities and curriculum content. Creative, ready-to-use lessons mapped to curriculum content standards, activities and templates allow teachers to kick-start their use of technology in differentiating instruction.

This publishing of the book represents the judgment of peers who are particularly knowledgeable in Dr. Smith’s field. That, along with her university teaching in writing and technology, adds to her many accomplishments within the GPPSS. The district has ordered the book and it is available in the staff development library.
