Registration and Enrollment

All Kindergarten students must be registered and enrolled by making an appointment with the Office of Residency and Enrollment in the Central Administration Building, 389 St. Clair Ave. Call 313/432-3083 to make an appointment. Please note: those interested in Extended Day Kindergarten should make their appointment before February 16 because of the EDK application deadline February 28, and placement lottery March 1, 2007.

Half-Day Kindergarten

At their registration and enrollment appointment at 389 St. Clair Ave., half day Kindergarten students will receive information about their neighborhood elementary school, its round-up date, and any school specific forms.

Extended Day Kindergarten (EDK)

At their registration and enrollment appointment at 389 St. Clair Ave., all Extended Day Kindergarten families will receive the EDK letter and application. This will be the only place families can obtain that application this year. They will be encouraged to fill out the application and hand it in that day with their $500 registration fee. EDK applications are due before February 28, to ensure all paperwork is in order before the March 1 lottery drawing. All families will be notified of their placement that first week of March. Last year all families were placed and the lottery eliminated long registration lines.

The EDK sites this year are: Barnes, Defer, and Kerby. Families can rank their top three choices on the application. The fee for the EDK program is $3,600 this year.

Extended Day Kindergarten Informational Meeting

An informational meeting will be held at 7 p.m., January 31 in the Kerby Elementary gymnasium, 285 Kerby, Grosse Pointe Farms.
