Adolescent Health/Sex Education Suggestion and Concern Process

New: Current Revised School Code For Sex Education

The Adolescent Health/Sex Education Suggestion and Concern process was created to allow a clear path for staff, parents and guardians to make suggestions to the district’s Human Sexuality Advisory Committee about the program. Although the district has established this special path, all the usual channels of communication between parents and school remain open and, in many circumstances, preferred. If parents have a question or concern about their child’s classroom instruction, the first (and most authoritative) source of information is their child’s teacher. The district encourages parents to talk with the teacher about any questions they may have regarding instruction. If the parent does not feel that all their concerns have been satisfied, the building principal should be the next point of communication. Also, all the other channels of communication with district administrators remain an option. The suggestion and complaint process is mainly intended for programmatic ideas and issues that fall within the scope of the Human Sexuality Advisory Board.

The Adolescent Health/Sex Education Complaint process is a formal process established to allow parents or legal guardians to address issues covered in state statutes regarding Sex Education. The process and forms to use are available below.
