Jeffrey Broderick,
President
Jeff Broderick was
appointed to the Board in September 2001 and elected to the Board in 2002. He holds a B.S. in
business management and an M.B.A. in business, both from Wayne State
University. Mr. Broderick was vice-president of administration for
Parkedale Pharmaceuticals until his retirement in December 2000. He
lives with his wife, Cindy, and two children, Christine and Michelle,
in Grosse Pointe Woods. His term expires
June 30, 2006.
Lisa Vreede, Vice President
Lisa Vreede
was elected to the Board in June 2003. She has a B.S. in computer science
from the University of Michigan and an M.B.A. from Duke University.
Mrs. Vreede retired from Texas Instruments, where she was automotive sales
manager. She lives in Grosse Pointe Farms with her husband, Marc, and
their three children, Dana, Eric, and Emily. Her term expires June 30, 2007.
Joan
Dindoffer,
Treasurer
Joan Dindoffer was elected to the
Board in June 1997. She holds a B. A. in political science from the
University of Michigan, a J.D. from Wayne State University Law School, and
is a graduate of the National Graduate Trust School at Northwestern
University. Ms. Dindoffer is currently Vice President in the Wealth and
Institutional Management Division of Comerica Bank, and serves on the Tax
Council of the State Bar of Michigan. Ms. Dindoffer has been awarded the
Certificate of Merit by the Michigan Association of School Boards as a
result of completing their board certification and training program. She and
her husband, Fred, live in Grosse Pointe Park and are the parents of three
sons, Bob, Mike, and David. Ms. Dindoffer was Board Secretary from 1997-00,
Vice-President from 2000-02, and President from 2002-04. Her term expires
June 30, 2005.
Ahmed Ismail,
Trustee
Ahmed Ismail was elected
to the School Board in June 2004. He attended Poupard Elementary School,
Parcells Middle School, Grosse Pointe South High School and then graduated
as a member of the charter class of Grosse Pointe North High School. Mr.
Ismail presently serves as president of Grosse Pointe Woods-based Speedi
Photo and Digital Imaging Center, as president of a commercial construction
consulting firm, PHC Construction Corporation, and as president of a real
estate development firm, Clarkston Holdings, Ltd. In addition to his School
Board service, Mr. Ismail serves as a member of the Education Board of the
Detroit Symphony Orchestra, as a member of the City of Grosse Pointe Woods
Planning Commission, and as chairman of the Architectural Review Board of
Independence Township’s Avington Park residential community. Since joining
the School Board in June 2004, Mr. Ismail has been awarded the Certified
Board Member Award and the Award of Merit by the Michigan Association of
School Boards. He and his wife, Mary Ann, live in Grosse Pointe Woods with
their sons, Jonathan, Scott and Alex. His term expires June 30, 2008.
Angela Kennedy, Secretary
Angela Kennedy was elected to
the Board in June 2004. She holds a bachelor’s degree in American
government from the University of Virginia and a law degree from Vanderbilt
University. Mrs. Kennedy was formerly a clerk for a U.S. District Court
judge and a staff attorney for a large health and retirement fund. She and
her husband, Charles, reside in the City of Grosse Pointe with their two
children, Elizabeth Anne and Matthew. Her term expires June 30, 2008.
Alice Kosinski,
Trustee
Alice Kosinski is a 1976 University of
Michigan graduate, a
Registered Nurse, wife, and mother. She is in charge of the office
bookkeeping for her husband Michael, an orthopaedic surgeon. Alice and
Michael have three children, all of whom attend Grosse Pointe Public
Schools, currently at Brownell and Grosse Pointe South. She co-founded
the Special Education Parents PTO and is also a technology enthusiast
who established several district building websites.
Brendan Walsh, Trustee
Brendan Walsh was
appointed to the Board in August 2005. He is a 30 year resident
of Grosse Pointe Park and a Grosse Pointe South graduate. Mr.
Walsh earned a B.A. and a teacher's certificate (English, Latin)
from the University of Michigan. Mr. Walsh taught at Detroit
Cass Tech and Detroit Southeastern High Schools before entering
the private sector in the field of information technology. He
is currently managing partner of a private I.T. and
Telecommunications consulting firm. Mr. Walsh and his wife
Sarah are the parents of three children, two current and one
future Defer students. His term expires June 30, 2006.
