High School Day Study InfoCenter

There will be no major change to the structure of the high school day for the 2007/08 school year. This decision was reached at the October 2 Board of Education work session and announced at the televised conference meeting later that same evening. You can also listen to this meeting on your computer by clicking here.

The study of scheduling options will continue as the Grosse Pointe Public School System strives to provide a rigorous curriculum that meets community expectations for both student learning and efficiency.

We encourage you to participate in this ongoing dialogue by submitting questions for the Frequently Asked Questions document. At this time, the HSDS committee is collecting information requested by the Board of Education at their November 6 work session. Updates on committee progress will be shared at Board of Education meetings and work sessions, and a formal report is expected from the committee in March 2007. The Board is expected to make a decision regarding the schedule for the 2008/09 school year in April 2007. This will allow enough planning and preparation time for our instructional staff to successfully implement the chosen schedule.

Thank you for your interest and participation.
