The student who is most likely
to benefit from Community School is one who possesses several of the
following gifts, strengths, abilities, and challenges: |

Demonstrated long term commitment, passion and ability in at least one of
the following areas: the arts (both visual and performing), technology,
athletics, music, and socially adept/gifted with peers/adults

Creative problem solving abilities

Possesses the ability to think outside the box and function at high levels
of cognition and has the ability to analyze, synthesize and compare and
contrast information

Throughout academic career, has had no
difficulty with reading comprehension or mathematical computation

Began to experience a drop in GPA sometime
during their middle school experience. This drop in their
academic/behavioral performance has continued through middle school and is
at risk to significantly impact their 9th grade performance and high
school career.

Student does not require special education
services and needs little or no remediation. He or she may possess
gaps in their learning, but once addressed, can perform at appropriate
levels of academic performance
