Staff Development offers a wide variety
of workshops throughout the year during school and after school hours.
Salary credit is available for workshops that take place outside of the
normal school day. During the summer, Staff Development offers over a
hundred opportunities to enhance your knowledge especially in the areas
of technology, content area and differentiation.
1. How will
I know about workshops offered in the district?
The Office of Staff Development distributes this information through
emails and flyers. Technology skills classes are offered in the
fall, winter/spring and summer.
2. How do I sign up for classes?
Send an
email to the Staff Development Coordinator
(Jane.Nutter@gpschools.org)
or send a written request to the office. NO PHONE REGISTRATIONS WILL
BE ACCEPTED. Or if available, complete a registration form and return it
to the Staff Development Office.
3.How do I know if I’m registered for
a class?
You will receive an
email during the school year and a written confirmation during the summer
if time allows.
4. How do I receive credit?
When you attend the class,
make sure you sign the attendance sheet. The attendance sheet is the
only proof of participation.
5. When do I receive credit?
The attendance sheet is
returned to the Staff Development Office and the data is recorded in the
employee files. Annually you will receive a report with all the
workshops, committees, out of district classes and graduate credits you
have accumulated during the past year.
6. What if I am unable to attend the
class?
E-mail or call the Staff Development
Office and leave a message (313.432.3047). If time allows we will call
someone on the wait list to fill the spot.
7. Should I keep a separate record of
workshops I attend throughout the year?
We are human and may make a mistake on your record, so keep a log of the
following information until you receive your annual report:
Name of Workshop/ Instructor/ Date/ Time (length of class)/ Location
8. Who do I call regarding class
availability?
Only
inter-office mail or email requests will be taken for workshops.
Email Jane.Nutter@gpschools.org
regarding availability. |
