District Initiatives in the Grosse Pointe Public Schools

  • The district regularly engages in a process of long-term planning by which particular needs are identified and plans made for improvement. Two of those areas are the accommodating of diverse academic needs of students in our classrooms and the integration of technology into instruction.

  • In addition, several years ago, in order to better integrate curriculum, instruction, staff development, evaluation and instructional materials, the district transformed the former Curriculum Coordinating Council into the Educational Programs Leadership Council. The new group has a mandate to integrate the various instructional functions of the district into a cohesive whole.
