Accounting is the
language of business.
III. Accounting III
is designed for students to
plan a career in any field of business. The advanced course expands on
topics introduced in the beginning Accounting I and II courses while adding
new topics about management accounting. Accounting concepts are
introduced using modern businesses to which students can relate. Areas
of concentration are: departmentalized accounting, accounting control
systems, accounting for uncollectible accounts, notes payable and notes
receivable. Learning is through the completion of problems,
situations, and computerized projects.IV.
A final semester in Accounting will allow for the student
who plans a career in business to discover topics concentrated with
corporation accounting. Students will experience skills needed for
starting a corporation, including stock subscriptions, calculating, and
journalizing practices for dividends and financial statements and analysis
of end of the fiscal period of work. Another area of concentration
will be cost accounting for a merchandising business including the
maintaining of manufacturing records and the preparation of end of fiscal
period statements. |
