Clay-mation

• Tell A Tale...You will be creating a claymation version of a tale that will be shown to a student audience. You need to do the following:

  1. Choose a partner with whom you can work well. Create a folder with your team name in the Collaborative Folder on the S: drive.

  2. Choose one of your sets of storyboards.

  3. Put them in the collaborative folder.

  4. Create your sets this includes paper backgrounds and clay scenery with props.

  5. Create your clay characters.

  6. Set up your scenes and take digital photos. The cameras need to be set at 640x480 and macro (tulip icon). Stop taking photos at least 10 minutes before the end of class and do the following:

     1. One person clean up and put everything away.

     2. One person download the pictures into your collaborative folder.

  7. Using Video Blender, create a movie with your photos.

  • The movie must contain the following:

    • Recorded Dialog

    • Beginning Title(s) Frames (Do not use whole names, use first name with last initial)

    • At least one transition

    • Ending Frame with the moral

    • Credits frame (Do not use whole names, use first name with last initial)

To get a better grade do the following:

(Remember more work/ effort = better grade)

• More Frames showing better animation

  • Make mouths move with dialog, make arms and legs move.

• Good quality sound

  • Add of music and/ or sound effects

  • Speak clearly, loud, and not too fast

• Varied types of shots: Long, Medium, Close-up, Zoom

• Clever use of transitions

• Interesting and creative clay characters

• Better scenery, backgrounds, and props
